CDM inaugurates additional project for primary school
In order to the educational development of the KASAPA community, CDM has committed to build a series of additional teaching infrastructures at LEMERA Primary School, including classrooms, administrative offices, toilets, and solar-powered wells. On 3 April, CDM inaugurated the construction of an additional project at LEMERA Primary School in the KASAPA community.
Speech on behalf of the Governor of Upper Katanga Province
LEMERA Primary School has more than 1,500 students, and the existing buildings, built in 2008, are showing signs of wear and tear and no longer meet modern standards. The construction of the additional project initiated by CDM will improve the teaching and learning environment, enhance the conditions of the school, and make a positive contribution to the development of education in a high-quality, balanced and sustainable manner.
Sultan, Minister of ESG and Sustainable Development, mentioned the importance of this project to the community and expressed his gratitude to all supporters and contributors. He said, "The construction of LEMERA Primary School is of particular importance to the community and represents our strong commitment to education and community development. It is our responsibility to provide the best teaching and learning conditions and create a learning environment that is safe and conducive to the development of every child."
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by representatives of the Governor, representatives from the Provincial Department of Hydrocarbon Mining, the Department of Geology and Mines, the Provincial Department of Education, as well as authorities such as the Mayor of the town of ANNEXE, the Mayor of the district of KASAPA, etc. Teachers of LEMERA Primary School joined in witnessing this momentous occasion as they sang and danced with smiles of joy on their faces.
CDM has always been enthusiastic about education, not only donating stationery, food and other necessities to neighbouring schools and orphanages, but also providing scholarships to poor students. CDM keeps its commitment to education, and is willing to work together with the community, gather strength and empowerment, and make unremitting efforts to provide high-quality education and cultivate outstanding talents for the future.
